Lillian's Hair Tip of the Week

Being a swimmer like myself can be hard on the hair. It can be even harder if you color it like I do. The first thing I do is wet my hair thoroughly because wet hair can't absorb as many chemicals. I also add a little After Sun Mask by Redken which also helps keep the chemicals out. Then I put a cap on. I also have color on my eyebrows so to keep them from fading I put a little Vaseline on them. After swimming I shampoo with Color Extend Sun also by Redken followed by a little more after sun mask. Many of the women swimming with me do the same thing with their hair and we all feel it's the best way to keep a swimmer's hair healthy.

Jim's Tip of the Week

To save money on stronger conditioners, add Aloe Vera or Ahoba Oil to intensify the conditioning properties of the conditioner.

Michelle's Tip of the Week

For all you non-metrosexual men out there who want to wash and go, using a little product in your hair, like a pommade or light gel, will leave all the ladies turning their heads.

Shea's Haircare Tip of the Week (Attention all Curly Heads!!)

To get the most formation out of your curl , use a creamer styling product for smoothness and separation. Once the product is applied, there is no need to touch it again. Never use a brush! Only use a wide tooth comb.

Cyndi's Hair Care Tip Of The Week

So we are starting something with this blog for the new year. Each week one of our 11 stylists will give their insight on hair care or style and allow you a small peak into the mind of a stylist. This week is our first tip and it comes courtesy of Cyndi.

In the winter, you may notice your hair is limp and has a tendency to fly away. To combat this you must moisturize your hair with conditioner. The conditioner will combat the static, replenish the moisture and combat the dryness. Cold air is negatively charged, as is your damaged hair. The positively charged conditioner attracts to the negatively charged hair and repairs it.

Remember the rule...shampoo the scalp and condition the ends.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Well, we are 2 days into the New Year and already things are looking positive and expectations are high for the business. Tonight we are having our "Holiday Party" at the salon with all of the fellow staff members. We will have food from The Cheesecake Factory...the chocolate cake is my favorite...and some light "adult beverages" from our neighbors at Tommy Doyle's. Every year we do a grab. You have to pick your secret Santa out of a hat and go from there...some people are much easier to buy for then others. Great food, good friends, and just plain good times all around.

We will having monthly specials and this months special for January is if you visit us for a $35 treatment, custom made just for you, it is only $20 with any service. We will be posting our salon specials on the blog site first, so those of you who are following us regularly will be the first to know. We will continue to have warm freshly made cookies along with tea/ hot cocoa.
